Indiana has a diverse terrain made up of lakes, rivers, lowlands, hills, and parks.

If you're a resident of one of our Indiana properties and are looking for a park to enjoy on a nice summer day, these are the best spots to head to this summer in Indiana.

Brown County State Park

This massive park is nicknamed the "Little Smokies" because it resembles the Great Smoky Mountains' ridges, rugged hills, and fog-covered ravines. Spend the day here and climb the 90 foot fire tower, visit the nature center, swim in the Water Park pool, and gaze at the state-endangered Yellowwood Tree. Stay at the Abe Martin Lodge and catch some of the exciting events happening this summer at Brown County State Park, including plenty of family-friendly shows and workshops all summer long. Residents at Honey Creek can drive to the park in under an hour.

Eagle Creek Park

The largest park in the state, Eagle Creek Park also happens to be one of the largest municipal parks in the country. The park is made up of both land and water, making it one of the best parks to head to this summer. Go canoeing, sailing, rowing, fishing, or head to the park's swimming beach. If you're an adrenaline junkie, the park's Go Ape attraction lets you swing on tree tops, or cruise along a zip line over rows of breathtaking trees. Drive here in 40 minutes from Honey Creek and spend the day exploring this stunning park.

Indiana Dunes National Park

Indiana Dunes National Park officially gained national park status in February 2019, but it has been known for its vast earthy landscape and calm beaches for years. The park sits along 15 miles of the southern tip of Lake Michigan, and features beaches, trails, camping areas, historic attractions, and sand dunes. When you're not swimming, go bird watching, hike along a nature trail, or try your hand at horseback riding. The park is also home to national landmarks, rare plants, and wildlife. This mesmerizing spot is well worth the three hour drive from Mill Pond, so pack up the family for an unforgettable summer getaway.
