Every year, Cincinnati transforms into Zinzinnati to celebrate Oktoberfest.

Oktoberfest Zinzinnati is the largest Oktoberfest in the nation, with an estimated 500,000 people coming to the Queen City just to celebrate this exciting festival. First held in 1976, this celebration of German heritage now runs for three days and is sponsored by Samuel Adams and Amazon.

Chow down on any of the 64,000 sauerkraut balls, 56,250 sausages, 87,542 metts, 16,002 strudel, 6,000 jumbo pickles, and 702 pounds of Limburger cheese available throughout the weekend. And that's just half of the menu! There will also be German potato salad, cream puffs, brats, pretzels, and potato pancakes. Top off your meal with some delicious German beer poured into a souvenir mug for just $12, with $8 refills available all weekend.

What's an Oktoberfest without entertainment? Oktoberfest Zinzinnati won't disappoint, with dozens of live bands, games, and events happening across nine stages. The World's Largest Chicken Dance is also making headlines again this year, with nine Cincinnati celebrities leading the Chicken Dance for the first time; one for each stage.

This year, the festivities kick off on September 19th with the Running of the Wieners, and will continue throughout the entire weekend. It all happens on Second and Third Streets, between Walnut and Elm Streets, right in downtown Cincinnati. Residents of our Alexandra apartments are just 15 minutes away by bus, and residents at Valley Creek and Tall Timber can drive to the fun in under 25 minutes.
