Living at Mill Pond Apartments puts you in close proximity to a variety of engaging and educational activities and spaces to share with your little ones. If you're looking to spend a day out with your kids, don't miss our favorite child-friendly places in Muncie.

Muncie Children's Museum

For an exciting and educational experience, take your kids to the Muncie Children's Museum. Here, your kids can embrace their unique interests, with exhibits covering everything from animals to water, trucks, nutrition, and more! These interactive exhibits keep your children engaged for hours, and parents can enjoy taking an active role in their children's educations. The museum also hosts events, like the annual Princess and Pirate Party happening on March 2, 2019. Kids can decorate their own treats and costumes while listening to stories about princesses and pirates.

Charles W. Brown Planetarium

The Charles W. Brown Planetarium at Ball State University offers breathtaking and educational experiences for you and your children over the age of 10. The planetarium is the largest in Indiana, and offers free public shows almost every week of the year. Fly through Saturn's rings, explore Mars, and zip through the beautiful sights of space at the planetarium's massive digital theater. There's also a hands-on activity station that can be explored before the show.

Prairie Creek Reservoir

Located just southeast of Muncie is its largest park, Prairie Creek! You can enjoy all of your family's favorite outdoor activities at Prairie Creek Reservoir, including hiking, biking, ATVing, fishing, camping, boating, and even horseback riding! Featuring a variety of trails and relaxing spaces, spend a quiet day at the park, or jam-pack your schedule with tons of activities. Rent a cabin and stay for the weekend at the park's campgrounds. Children under 5 can stay for free!
