Charlotte is a charming & warm, historical city whose residents are proud to call home!

In addition to being a beautiful city, Charlotte is also the financial, technological, industrial, and entertainment hub of the region. It is also one of the country's fastest growing cities, and is number one in the U.S. for attracting young adults, pegging it as a 'Millennial' hub.

There are so many reasons why people decide to make the move to the 'Queen City'. Whether it's the great cost of living, financial career opportunities, or the numerous post-secondary education facilities, this city has something for everyone. Charlotte residents appreciate and frequent the booming art scene, cheer on their exciting sports teams, and lavish in the fantastic year-round weather. If you are moving to one of our properties in Charlotte, here's what you need to know!

Locals love Basketball

Charlotte locals love basketball, especially their beloved local team, the Charlotte Hornets. The NBA team plays in the heart of the city at the Spectrum Center, which can easily be accessed from our River Crossing community by taking the Lynx Blue Line light rail.

Charlotteans are obsessed with NASCAR

And they should be! Charlotte is considered to be one of the biggest racecar hubs in the country, with many NASCAR teams making the city their home-base. It also happens to be home to the NASCAR Hall of Fame and residents can watch NASCAR and other racing events at the nearby track, Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord.

Malls are in the suburbs

One of our communities, The Landings at Steele Creek, is conveniently located close to many of the best shopping malls in the city, including the Charlotte Premium Outlets and Rivergate Shopping Center. This means that you don't have to travel far in order to shop for all of the latest trends!

It is becoming more and more diverse

The southern state is increasing in diversity every year, with Latino and Asian populations on the rise. What this means is that in addition to its beloved traditional fare like southern grits, yams, and fiercely amazing barbeque, there are many new culinary flavors being introduced to the city. This is especially true in the historic South End district, which can easily be reached by our Beckett Farms community!
